Introduction
The primary mission of University is to create and to disseminate knowledge. We engage in different areas of research activities and we train students to meet the demand for different professionals in the local society. As the pace of economic and technology development is getting so fast, we see the need for the University to contribute in assisting the industry to apply the knowledge into practical use. To facilitate technology transfer and R&D collaboration with the industry, the Faculty established the Centre for Innovation and Technology (CINTEC). The Centre consists of two operational units, namely the applied research and development unit, and the industrial liaison office.
The applied R&D unit engages in sponsored research, consultancy, advanced technology development and product prototyping. These are typical mid-stream R&D activities to facilitate effective technology transfer. Our primary objective is to turn innovative and original ideas generated from the research of our Faculty to practical technology, which closely matches the needs of the industry.
